Work Starts on Street Repaving, Park Driveway Construction

11/12/08 — Preliminary work for road resurfacing in Hillsborough and the construction of a driveway at Kings Highway Park will begin this week.

Work on the park's driveway will start Wednesday, Nov. 12. The 18-acre natural area, which opened May 2007, is located on Ben Johnson Road at the edge of Hillsborough's extraterritorial jurisdiction.

On Thursday, Nov. 13, the contractor will start preparation for repaving North Hillsborough Avenue (from King Street north), Murray Street and Sherwood Lane. The preparation will include raising manholes. Paving of the residential streets is expected to start Monday, Nov. 17, and to last three days, weather permitting.

Kings Highway Park is owned and maintained by the Town of Hillsborough. It contains about 1 mile of nature trails.
