Town to Consider Amending Tree Ordinance

11/3/08 — The Hillsborough Town Board will consider amending the town’s tree ordinance during a public hearing at its Nov. 10 regular meeting.

The proposed amendment to the ordinance — Chapter 7, Section 36 of the Town Code — would include increasing penalties for violations of the ordinance from $1,000 to $2,500. It also would include clarifying Tree Ordinance provisions involving care, preservation and removal of trees in Hillsborough and increasing the number of appointees to the Tree Board.

The Town Board meets at 7 p.m. in the Town Barn, located at 101 E. Orange St. on the Town Hall campus.
