The following significant incidents were reported to the Hillsborough Police Department:
- On Feb. 18, a resident of 600 S. Churton St. reported that her vehicle was broken into through a window and two GPS units and an Ipod cable were stolen. The break-in happened between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
- On Feb. 21, a resident of Allen Ruffin Road reported that copper tubing was taken from an unused heating unit located in the back yard. The resident said the unit had been damaged and the copper stolen sometime during the last 10 days.
- On Feb. 22, a visitor to Hillsborough reported that a Remington .22 rifle was stolen from his pickup truck parked on Torain Street. The owner of the rifle said his truck had been parked on Torain Street for the past few days.
- On Feb. 24, a Durham resident reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while shopping at Wal-Mart Supercenter. The victim said a man stopped her to ask for directions. She said when she looked at her purse, she noticed the wallet had been stolen. The man is described as a black man wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.
- On Feb. 25, a resident of Terrell Road reported finding her door pried open upon returning home. Officers searched the residence and did not find anyone inside. The resident stated nothing was missing.
