Hillsborough Seeks Bids for Downtown, Kenion Grove Sidewalk Improvements

The Town of Hillsborough is accepting sealed bids for sidewalk improvements through 2 p.m. May 12.

A public bid opening will take place.

The work would include construction of sidewalk improvements in the downtown and in the Kenion Grove subdivision. It also would include grading, paving, erosion control, traffic control and pavement marking.

Streets affected would be Constitution Way in Kenion Grove; Hillsborough Avenue; Margaret Lane; and King, Hassell, West Tryon, Churton and North Wake streets.

The town encourages the participation of small contractors, minority contractors, physically disabled contractors, female contractors and historically underutilized businesses in the construction of this project.

Complete plans, specifications and contract documents will be open for inspection at Town Hall, 101 E. Orange St.; the offices of the Associated General Contractors in Raleigh; HCAC/iSqFt. Plan Room in Raleigh; and Carolina’s Plan Room in Raleigh.

Copies of the contract, specifications and plans may be obtained at the Hillsborough Finance Department, located in the Town Hall Annex, 137 N. Churton St., or by calling the department at 919-732-2104. A nonrefundable fee of $50 will be charged for copies. Payment must be made by cashiers check.
