Latest Issue of Hillsborough’s Stormwater Almanac Now Posted

The Town of Hillsborough’s latest issue of the Stormwater Almanac is now available on the town’s Web site.

Learn what could be an illicit or illegal discharge into the stormwater system and how the town is trying to find and eliminate such discharges. Also read about how stream buffers can help reduce pollution and what a buffer entails.

The newsletter of Hillsborough’s stormwater program is distributed online. Click on Town Government and then Departments and Services to get to the Stormwater Management page under Public Works. The newsletter, as well as past issues, is available on the righthand side of the page.

For more information or to receive the newsletter by e-mail, contact Stormwater Resource Officer Terry Hackett with the Orange County Erosion Control Division by e-mail or by phone at 245-2588.

The stormwater program operates as a division of the Hillsborough Public Works Department but is coordinated by Orange County. Its mission is to protect the public and ecosystem’s health and safety; address stormwater quality and quantity concerns; and meet or exceed federal and state mandates regarding stormwater.
