Waste Transfer Station Advisory Committee

The advisory committee was created in the fall of 2008 to evaluate Orange County's solid waste transfer station plans and siting process.

The committee is comprised of representatives from the Town Board; the Orange County Economic Development Commission; the Waterstone mixed-use development, which includes the Durham Tech satellite campus; and the Beckett’s Ridge, Cornwallis Hills and Davis Road neighborhoods, which are close to the top two sites recommended to the county under technical criteria.

In October of 2008 the Hillsborough Town Board adopted a resolution opposing the siting of a county waste-transfer station in any of the three sites that were recommended around Hillsborough's jurisdiction.
