Water Supply Status

The Utilities Department issues regular updates of the West Fork Eno Reservoir's supply status. To receive the updates, contact the utilities director.
 

Current Status  

As of Thursday, January 28, 2010, the Hillsborough West Fork Eno Reservoir status is the following:

 

 Depth = 43.0 feet

  • % Full = 100%
  • Average Hillsborough Water Usage for week ending 12/11/09 = 1.065 MGD
  • Average Hillsborough Water Usage for week ending 12/18/09 = 1.196 MGD
  • Average Hillsborough Water Usage for week ending 12/25/09 = 1.161 MGD
  • Average Hillsborough Water Usage for week ending  1/1/10  = 1.121 MGD
  • Average Hillsborough Water Usage for week ending  1/8/10  = 1.239 MGD
  • Average Hillsborough Water Usage for week ending  1/15/10 = 1.233 MGD
  • Average Hillsborough Water Usage for week ending  1/22/10 = 1.148 MGD
  • Days of Water Supply Remaining = 354

 
The WFER is full and overflowing.  The minimum release for January is 3.5 cubic feet per second (1,570 gallons per minute, 2.26 MGD), which is being exceeded by the overflow.  At our current water usage level, we have approximately 354 days of water supply remaining.  Average Hillsborough water usage over the last 4 weeks is 1.185 MGD (3.6% increase over the previous 4-week period).  Compared to the same 4 week period in 2009, we are using 4.2% more water.

 Hillsborough water customers are NOT currently under any water use restrictions.  The town is NOT currently under any withdrawal restrictions from the Eno River.  We have had over 2 1/2 inches of rain at the dam over the last month.

 Lake Orange is full.
