The town uses an automated phone answering system due to limited staffing. It is the most cost-effective way to direct citizens' calls for service. Please be aware that the town receives a high volume of calls and that the phone system is set up to prevent you from receiving a busy signal. If the extension you are calling is busy, you will be forwarded to the extension’s voice mail. Please leave your name and number, and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

 

Office Hours — All offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The Water/Sewer Billing and Collections Office remains open until 6 p.m. on the 25th of each month. If the 25th falls on a weekend or holiday, the office will remain       open until 6 p.m. the next work day.

Holiday Closings — The Town of Hillsborough observes the following holidays. Offices will be closed on these dates.

2008 Office Closings

Emergency Service Requests — Water line breaks and similar emergencies should be reported immediately to the Water/Sewer Billing and Collections staff at 732-2104 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday or at 732-3621 after   hours, weekends and holidays.

Work Orders — New trash cans, leaf pickup and similar requests should be made via the Work Order Voice Mailbox        at 732-2104 Ext. 222 or the Work Order E-mail. The mailbox is monitored twice per day, and you will be contacted          or have the item addressed within two business days. Please remember to leave a name, address, phone number and specific message about the service you need.
